Dr. Court D. Thelen, Optometrist

Dr. Thelen hails from North Platte, Nebraska. He attended Buena Vista College in Storm Lake, Iowa where he was captain of the swimming and diving team.

After graduating Dr. Thelen went to optometry school at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee where he met his wife, Dr. Michelle Thelen. He graduated from optometry school in 1998. While in school he went to Costa Rica three times as part of an optometric mission trip to help those less fortunate, and trained at Kirkland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Upon graduation Dr. Thelen worked at Lifesigns Physical Examination Center as part of a whole body wellness approach to medicine. He moved to the D.C. area in June 2000.

Dr. Thelen is a member of the Annandale Rotary Club, the Annandale Chamber of Commerce, the Northern Virginia Optometric Society and the Virginia Optometric Association. He has served as a consultant to Vistakon Contact Lenses and Allergan Pharmaceuticals.

Dr. Thelen holds a Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agent License for the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases.

Dr. Michelle E. Thelen, Optometrist

Dr. Michelle Thelen grew up as a military dependent while her father served in the United States Navy. She experienced many different areas in the United States and spent four years in Okinawa, Japan.

She attended Florida State University and was a member the Alpha Chi Omega sorority.

After graduating, Dr. Thelen went to optometry school at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee, graduating magna cum laude in 2000. While there she traveled to Costa Rica three times as part of an optometric mission trip to help those less fortunate, and trained at Bethesda Naval Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland.

Dr. Thelen is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Northern Virginia Optometric Society and the Virginia Optometric Association.

Dr. Thelen holds a Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agent License for the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases.
